What do I do if I lost my password?
Under the login box there is a small link "Password forgotten? Click here". Enter the email address of your account and a new random password will be sent to you. (Top)

How can I change my address or personal details?
You can change your details by logging into your account in the My Account section. Once you have logged in you can change both your default contact details and also add and change any address in your address book. (Top)

How do I find out about the newest releases?
If you want to stay informed about all the latest releases then make sure you are subscribed to the mailing list. You can subscribe and unsubscribe from the newsletter in the My Account section. Every time we upload any new releases you will then receive an e-mail informing you about it. (Top)

How do I unsubscribe from the mailing list?
You can unsubscribe from our newsletter by simply entering your email address in the box on the left hand side of our main website. (Top)

Can I come and pick up my order and/or visit your shop?
If you live in Melbourne you are more than welcome to pickup your online order in our Richmond shop located at 394 Victoria St Richmond. To pickup your order you will need to select the shipping method "Bag My Records" during checkout. For payment you can either use credit card online or you can select "Cheque/Money Order" if you would like to pay us in store using cash, EFTPOS or Credit Card. For faster processing we recommend paying by credit card online. The most important thing you need to remember is to bring your order number with you when you come to pickup your order and you can do this by printing out your order confirmation email. If you do not have your order number on you and we are busy you may experience a delay in being served. If you wish to pick up your order in our Sydney store you will need to specify this in the comments box during checkout. It takes 2 working days to transfer stock from our Melbourne warehouse to the Sydney store and we will give you a call when your order is ready for pickup.

There is a record I want that is not listed on the site, can you order it for me?
We can fill special requests provided that the records are relatively new (still in press) and are within the genre's we stock (currently House, Trance, Hard Trance, Hard Dance, Progressive, Techno, Breaks and Hardcore). To order an item that is not in stock please email full information about the title(s) you require to requests@vinylwarning.com.au. Include Artist, Title, Label and Catalogue number. Catalogue numbers are critical to the ordering process and any requests without this field may be given lower priority or ignored. Once a requested item arrives in stock it will be uploaded to the website with all the other incoming stock for that week, our business model isn't setup to reserve records for you so it is your responsibility to log on to our website and order them before someone else does. We will do our best to email you when your requested items come in stock but we make no promises, you are advised to keep an eye on the "New This Week" sections. (Top)

How do the charts work?
The bestsellers charts are dynamically generated from real time sales data. The charts change depending on which category/genre you are browsing. For example if you are browsing the Hard Trance > New This Week section, the bestsellers box will show you the ten most popular records in that section. The charts only show sales data from the last 3 months with the exception of the chart on the main page which shows the top ten most popular products from all categories added to the site in the last month. In the stock listing, what's the small green or yellow circle mean?
Each record in our listings has a small circle which indicates our live stock level. A green circle indicates we are well stocked in that particular item. A yellow circle means we only have a few remaining of that item and you should order ASAP or risk missing out. Please note we do not carry any inventory of some of the merchandise and equipment we list but rather we drop ship or specially obtain these items from our suppliers on a per order basis. In these cases the stock level indicators may not represent accurate inventory levels. (Top)

How can I hear your records before I purchase them?
You can download samples of each record in MP3 format. There are small links beside each product that look like this: [MP3 A] [MP3 B]. To play them you need Windows Media Player (which is installed by default on any Windows PC) or Winamp (you can download at www.winamp.com). MP3's can be streamed just like Real Audio by using Windows Media Player. You can make Windows Media Player your default MP3 player by opening Windows Media Player and selecting from the menu "Tools" then "Options". In the "File Types" tab make sure MP3 is checked and your ready! (Top)

What is the cut-off time for same day shipping?
All outgoing mail is collected daily from our warehouse by Australia Post at 4:00 PM. Credit card orders placed before 3:00 PM will go out the same day. Orders placed after this time will go out the following weekday. Orders that are paid via Bank Transfer or Money Order will be processed on the same day that we receive payment. (Top)

How does your bagging system work?
The bagging system is there to help our Australian customers save on the cost of shipping. By accumulating records in your bag, you can ship larger volumes so that the shipping cost per unit is reduced. To use the system simply select the "Bag my records" shipping option when you check out. You then pay for your records like normal and your order will be invoiced, picked and bagged for you. You own the records yet we hold on to them for you. On your final order, when you are ready to ship, you need to select from one of our two shipping methods, regular or express post. Our system will detect that you have bagged records and include them on our packing list. Please note, there is no way to have your bagged records sent without placing an additional order and selecting postage. For this reason you should only use the bagging system if you intend on buying more records later. You can view the status of your orders and see any bagged records you have via the Account History page. (Top)

How long can I leave an order bagged with you?
Records may be left bagged for a period of up to twelve months. It is a requirement that all orders must be paid for before being bagged, so we're not too fussed how long we hold them except for the fact we have limited storage space. So after twelve months we will return your records to stock but you will still have credit for the records that you paid for.(Top)

Why is the bagging system for Australian customers only?
Unfortunately because of the complexities of calculating international freight charges we havn't a system in place that can correctly handle bagged records in this process. We hope to offer this feature to all our international customers in the future. (Top)

You sent me a damaged product, what do I do?
Send an email to orders@vinylwarning.com.au explaining the situation. Please include your order number and give us much detail as possible. We will contact you with details on returning the product. Badly warped or scratched records may be returned so long as they are completely unplayable. Being an analogue medium, phonographic records are susceptible to small sound artifacts (clicks and pops) which are sometimes unavoidable in the manufacturing process. Therefore records with small inaudible scratches or minute clicks and pops may not be returned. We must be notified by email within 14 days of the shipping date in order to authorise the return. What forms of payments do you accept?
As well as most major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard and Bankcard), we also accept payment by Direct Bank Transfer, Cheque and Money Order. All payments must be made in Australian Dollars. Please note that payments made by methods other than credit card may delay order processing by up to 3 working days. Please see our Payment Methods page for further details on how to pay. (Top)

How does the local currency system work?
The local currency system allows you to view all the product prices in your local currency, there are several different currencies to choose from. You can change the currency using the box on the bottom right side of the site. The currency can be changed at any time except during check out. (Top)

Will I be charged GST or any other tax on my order?
By default, prices on the site include 10% Goods & Services Tax (GST). This will be automatically deducted for customers who live outside of Australia. (Top)

How can I add to a previous order?
Australian customers may add to a previous order by placing an additional order through our website and selecting "Bag My Records" as the shipping method. This way you will not be charged for shipping again and we will do our best to ensure that the new order gets added to the previous one. It should be possible for us to do this so long as you place the second order before we have started processing and picking the first order. We generally process and pick orders between the hours of 9am to 3pm so if you are placing an additional order during this time you may need to check with us to make sure. If we can't add to the previous order then the second order will be bagged for you so that you can have it sent with your next order. If you are paying by Cheque, Money Order or Bank Transfer we will only ship your orders together if payment is received on the same day. Unfortunately international customers cannot add to a previous order without incurring an additional shipping charge. (Top)

I have multiple orders that add up to over $100, can you ship them free?
As stated on our shipping page we will only provide free shipping where a single order placed through our website contains items to the value of $100 or more. We will not provide free shipping where the $100 total is spread over several orders each having a value of less than $100. The reason for this is that there is significant processing costs for each and every order put through our website and this would make the free shipping offer untenable for us if we were to offer it unconditionally. We believe the free shipping offer to be very generous considering that we haven't increased the prices of our records at all and we trust that the conditions of our offer are only fair. Also, our Bagging System is still available and can be used to save shipping costs. Previously "Bagged" orders may be included and sent for free with an order that qualifies for free shipping.
